Snapshots evolved as a lullaby to help a three year old fall sleep. It worked – after a few minutes he would be in dream land! Each night the piece grew a little longer, and it seemed to compile snapshots at different periods of life. At the same time these flash backs seemed to be locked in a time vacuum. The 20 minute piano piece then turned into a symphonic piece with the piano taking the lead. It seemed appropriate to let the piece start again to create the feeling of a vacuum.
